Summary Position: Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center), a division within Bank Street College of Education (the College) created to support Bank Street’s work with school districts, is currently seeking an Associate Director (AD) to help lead the Family Child Care (FCC) project within the School Systems Partnerships & Projects (SSPP) project portfolio. They will work closely with the FCC team to support content development, facilitation, project management, and communication.
Key relationships: The Associate Director will report to the Project Director of the FCC project, and will work closely with team members across FCC, the broader SSPP team, and the Ed Center.
Responsibilities: In collaboration with their supervisor, the FCC team, and additional support from the broader SSPP and Ed Center teams, the Associate director will be responsible for the following tasks:
Supporting in the planning and implementation of all project strands (including content development, facilitation, strategic planning, analytics, and project management);
Partnering with the project director and project manager to identify project updates across work strands, managing timelines, and escalating deadlines as needed;
Designing and facilitating professional learning arcs and sessions for FCC providers;
Managing and leading strategic planning conversations with project partners via step-back meetings and reflections, in order to regularly monitor project progress and identify adjustments accordingly;
Supporting the analyst in collecting and tracking of data around the quality of experiences for participants; and reflecting on this information to debrief learnings and surface implications on the project with the project team, partners, and Ed Center leaders.
Supporting the Instructional Specialist in designing quality of experiences for participants, and reflecting on this information to debrief learnings and surface implications on the project with the project team, partners, and Ed Center leaders.
Supporting the project director to build capacity within project team and project partners to sustain high quality family child care practices;
Performing related tasks as assigned.
Background in curriculum, instruction, and professional development and assessment in early childhood education/child development
Background in progressive teaching and learning, and professional development
Experience designing and facilitating professional learning sessions
Excellent facilitation skills to lead workshops and group discussions, especially with participants of diverse experiences and backgrounds
Flexibility in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment of changing priorities and tight deadlines
Strong team leadership experience, with a proven ability to build capacity in others
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with childcare providers, district teams, consultants, and vendors
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated learning stance
Demonstrated Google suite, PowerPoint, Excel, project management, and analytical skills
