Assists the principal in the development and implementation of the instructional program; directs and supervises pupil personnel services, including attendance, discipline and health services. Is directly responsible to the Principal.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as a co-leader in management of the school program and administers the school in the absence of the principal
• Is responsible for discipline
• Assists in the professional development of the staff and the organization of staff responsibilities through:
  • Observing and evaluating teachers
  • Scheduling duty assignments
  • Supervising attendance services
  • Assisting in the orientation of new teachers
• Supervises the following programs and services:
  • Student Lockers
  • Health services
  • Counseling
  • Bus Schedule
• Assisting in the establishment of school policies:
  • Developing student handbook
  • Developing drill procedures – fire, disaster, emergency
• Acts as liaison for other agencies
• Supervises student activities – games, dances, assemblies, etc.
• Prepares official reports as requested by the Main Office, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned by principal
• Organizes and supervises Community Aides
• Promotes good community relations, meeting with community groups and organizations
• Complies with the State Education Code and district board policies

A minimum of five (5) years of certificated experience in public elementary or junior high schools.
Administrative Credential, or Certificate of Eligibility
Master Degree preferred
Valid California Driver's License
