Under the direction of the assigned administrator(s), the assistant principal shall organize, coordinate, and administer student services, curriculum and instruction, student activities, and/or facilities. Responsibilities will include supervision of student discipline and attendance; grade reporting; budget development, preparation, and management; master schedule/calendar development, preparation, and management; assessment and testing; departmental supervision; certificated and classified personnel evaluation; co-curricular and extra-curricular programs; facility and grounds maintenance; coordinate site and field utilization and maintain open and ongoing communication with community groups and the city. Completes other related work as assigned.
At least five years successful teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level;
An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard from an accredited college or university;
A valid California K-12 Teaching Credential requiring a bachelor’s degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching
A valid Administrative Services Credential authorizing K-12 service;
Training in areas of secondary school administration, curriculum, supervision of instruction and student services desirable;
