The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at The University of Tennessee is seeking applicants for Evaluation, Statistics, and Methodology open rank tenure-track faculty member to join the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies for a nine-month position beginning August 1, 2023. This position is a part of a four-person cluster hire of leading scholars with expertise in educational inequality across a range of programs.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Maintaining a cutting-edge scholarly research agenda;
Supporting the graduate programs in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies through teaching and advising;
Participating in professional associations at the local, state, regional, and national/international levels;
Service to the department, college, university, and other educational organizations;
Collaborating with college and department faculty and staff and with school districts and school administrators;
Strong commitment to the mission of the university and the department.
The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences is a multidisciplinary unit with 90+ tenured/tenure-track faculty members, housed in eight departments. Educational Leadership and Policy Studies is a thriving department with more than 200 graduate students and 15 full-time faculty working with programs in K-12 education, higher education, adult learning, and evaluation, statistics, and methodology, and a growing undergraduate minor in leadership studies.

Required qualifications include:
An anticipated doctorate in program evaluation, educational research methodology, or a related discipline at the time the appointment begins;
Demonstrated record of (full/associate professor) or potential for (assistant professor) high-quality research and securing external funding;
Evidence of (full/associate professor) or potential for (assistant professor) teaching excellence in graduate level programs;
Demonstrated commitments to equity, social justice, and cultural responsiveness;
Evidence of substantial experience in educational program evaluation;
Evidence of (full/associate professor) or potential for (assistant professor) teaching excellence in graduate courses in program evaluation, project management, grant writing, and educational research methods.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with graduate student mentorship, in preparation for chairing PhD student dissertations;
Experience with online/hybrid instruction;
Experience working with distance education students;
Interest and ability to work with other faculty on research questions related to educational inequities.
