The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Carolina) invites applications for an open rank, non tenure-track, faculty position in Educational Leadership. This is a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term position with an initial three-year appointment. The proposed start date is July 1, 2023.
The successful candidate will: (a.) Serve as Director of the Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) program overseeing student recruitment and admission; student advisement; field experience partnerships, coordination, and mentorship; and program assessment and evaluation toward accreditation; (b.) Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses during the calendar year (including summer) in face-to-face, online, and/or blended formats in educational leadership and related fields. Courses include advanced and applied leadership theories and practices, research project development, and clinical practica and internships; (c.) Coordinate and chair student capstone projects, (d.) Support strategic initiatives across the School and campus; and (e.) Provide leadership and service at the local, state, and national levels.
Education and Experience:
Recent professional experience in K-12 school districts and/or organizational leadership at the superintendent or central office level is highly desirable.
Preference will be given to candidates with (a) demonstrated knowledge of current theoretical and empirical works undergirding school system leadership and organizational improvement, and (b) demonstrated ability to bridge theory and practice for doctoral students enrolled in a leadership program, direct student applied research projects, and create and sustain positive change in school districts and related organizations.
