Position Summary
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with Middle School students and will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a desire to contribute in meaningful and positive ways to the life of the School. Provide high-level administrative support to the Middle School administration and faculty. Serve as the first level of communication with Middle School and perform a variety of managerial and organizational duties, including those responsibilities of a confidential nature dealing with students, families, and faculty. Manage daily operations of the Middle School office. Identify, organize, and supervise the needs of the Middle School office. Duties performed are designed to support the Middle School administrative team, to provide timely information for LCDS families, and to sustain a positive working and learning environment for LCDS faculty and students.
Responsibilities
Serves as “first friendly face” of the Middle School Office to all students, staff, and visitors
Provides daily Middle School office administrative duties such as mail management, phone calls, daily attendance, file preparation and organization, class rosters, student schedules, permanent records, ordering and maintaining office supplies
Provides administrative support and organization for Middle School events including but not limited to the Eighth Grade Closing Ceremony and Awards Assembly
Participates in faculty/staff meetings, committees, and sponsorship of school activities
Provides administrative support to Head of MS and MS faculty
Manages student transcript records and submission
Prepares transcripts
Prints and mails documents on school letterhead if paper copy is needed/requested
Manages and maintain bus rosters for all public school districts
Serves as the contact person for transportation coordinators
Manages, organizes, and maintains Summer Stipend and Professional Development data for the entire school
Assists all faculty with registration, reservations, and travel arrangements for professional conferences and workshops
Reconciles MS credit card statement on a monthly basis
Works closely with both the Upper and Lower School Administrative Assistants
Requirements
Minimum of five years of professional experience
Organized, efficient, and skilled in management
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proficient with a variety of technologies, such as databases, Google Apps (especially Google Docs and Sheets), survey systems, etc.
Desire to create and sustain an equitable, safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, families, and students
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, including a booster if eligible, is a requirement for employment at Lancaster Country Day School
Physical Demands
Regularly greets visitors, alternating between sitting and standing
Routinely works in a fast-paced environment
Works at desk and computer screen for extended periods of time
