Please note: this opportunity will be 10 hours per week.
The UCSF Fresno LaCMER team is seeking five (5) temporary Student Support Assistants who will be contracted for employment until May 2023. The Student Support Assistant will aid students currently enrolled in the UCSF Fresno Junior Doctors Academy and Doctors Academy at contracted school sites with academics and/or program related components like college preparation and APA research course. Each assistant will be assigned a caseload of students at each of the contracted school sites via site program coordinators. They will be responsible for meeting with students in group settings and one-on-one to provide feedback, develop attainable action plans and progress check ins. Additionally, during non-site days, may be asked to provide administrative support in office related to program components.
Note: Individual must be available to work in person at contracted school sites multiple days a week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 am-3:30 pm for the duration of their contract. The final schedule is subject to change and to be set individually based on the needs of contracted school sites and availability of the employee. Must have reliable transportation to sites within Caruthers & Fresno Unified School Districts. Eligibility for mileage reimbursement follows federal rates and must be within UC policy.
Work in collaboration with LaCMER staff including but not limited to Academic
Program Coordinators and Project Specialist, as well as contracted school siteemployees to ensure the completion of objectives and student retainment.
Coordinate schedule with Academic Program Coordinators, Project Specialist or
Education Director to assist assigned student groups at designated school sites.
Communicate directly with students, in group settings and one-on-one, regardingprogress, action plans, or feedback on assigned tasks and projects.
Other duties and tasks as assigned in support of LaCMER programs.
Adhere to UCSF & contracted sites COVID-19 policies as requested.
