Position Details:
This position is hiring for two (2) Office Assistants
Summary of Duties:
Under general supervision of the GEAR UP Site Manager, the first Office Assistant performs a variety of projects, assignments and clerical support functions for Kennewick High School and Park Middle School.
Under general supervision of the GEAR UP Site Manager, the second Office Assistant performs a variety of projects, assignments and clerical support functions for Kamiakin High School and Highlands Middle School.
Both Positions:
The Office Assistant performs a variety of complex clerical and administrative support duties in support of the GEAR UP programs in the Kennewick School District. The incumbent serves as an initial point of contact for the office providing information to staff, students, parents, clients and the general public regarding policies and services. Additionally, the Office Assistant provides fiscal support, communications and publications support to include preparing, proofing and editing a variety of materials in preparation for printing and distribution. Will be responsible for ordering supplies and assists with coordination of various GEAR UP events. Position requires frequent contact with clients, the public, university, district staff, faculty and students. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook; Google Workspace; Adobe products; and the internet.
Demonstrated knowledge and or experience preparing, proofing and/or editing communication materials such as brochures, newsletters and marketing publications.
Preferred Qualifications:
BA degree preferred.
Customer service experience.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in a busy office support setting requiring multi-tasking.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent edit/proofreading and data entry skills.

Salary range 34, $2,827.00 - $3,650.00 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
