Position Vacancy – Director to support impact work at Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center)
Summary Position: Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center), a division within Bank Street College of Education (the College) created to support the College’s systems-level work with school districts, is currently seeking a Director of Impact to design and implement a system for understanding and sharing our public impact through our project work with internal and external stakeholders.
Key relationships: The Director will report to the Executive Director of Content, Design, and Strategy and work with the broader Ed Center leadership team. This position will also work closely and collaboratively with other analytic staff across the center to ensure the analytic needs of our center are met.
Responsibilities: In collaboration with their supervisor, project teams, and the broader Ed Center leadership team, the Director will be responsible for the following tasks:
Design and execute evaluation and reporting plans for Ed Center projects in collaboration with project staff and Leadership.
Collaborate with project staff to identify project metrics according to goals outlined in contracts, and refine theEd Center’s identified theory of action for each project.
In collaboration with key internal and external (district/partner) stakeholders, create data collection tools that capture data aligned to these metrics (e.g. surveys, observation tools, interviews).
Develop systems to streamline and track project outcomes:
Build, vet, and maintain a portfolio of tools for ongoing use.
Build and maintain data management structures for long-term qualitative and quantitative data collection.
Create and maintain reference documents explaining data and methods.
Capture, Analyze and Report on Outcomes:
Capture data to track and report key performance indicators identified by leadership appropriate to be shared with internal and external audiences (e.g. Board meetings, funder pitches, marketing materials).
Develop a dashboard for visualization of key performance indicators.
Liaise with partner organizations / districts to ensure the timely delivery of data.
Generate reports visualizing and communicating project outcomes, as outlined in contracts and as needed for funders and the leadership team. These include, but are not limited to, mid-year and final reports for various projects, board of directors updates and materials for new and existing funders.
Facilitate regular step-backs with project staff to collect project updates, collect key content generated from each engagement and to review data and interpret results to prepare for internal check-ins with partner organizations/districts in which data will be shared and discussed.
Qualifications:
Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to work effectively with data of varying levels of quality and validity
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to perform independently
Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a group
Proficiency with quantitative and qualitative analysis software (e.g. STATA, R, NVivo, Qualtrics)
Attention to detail and ability to identify issues and inconsistencies in data
Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in other Microsoft Office software applications
Excellent writing and communications skills
Excellent PowerPoint/Google Slides skills and the ability to present information, including data, in multiple formats
Experiences:
Experience with data management & analytics
Demonstrated ability to lead or train others in the use of data tools and systems
Comfort with Google Suite tools and Slack for team collaboration
Demonstrated ability to design and manage complex and multiple projects
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with experienced educators and district teams
Flexibility in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment of quickly changing priorities and tight deadlines
Background in education Mindsets:

M.A. degree in education, M.P.A, M.P.P, or related field
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000
