This full-time, non-tenure position will serve as the Program Coordinator MED and MSED Program for the Whitlowe R. Greene College of Education.
Responsibilities:
Teach in the MED and MSED programs.
Serve as Coordinator of the MED and MSED Programs. Recruit and market the MED and MSED programs to school districts within the PVAMU catchment area. Establish partnerships and collaborations with school leaders.
Ensure that applicants to the programs meet minimum qualifications for admission. Coordinate with the College of Education Office of Student Services and Certification on all matters relating to TEA requirements and expectations for relevant Educator Preparation Programs.
Establish working relationships with counterparts at other TAMUS institutions.Â
Provide advising for new and continuing students. Â Prepare course schedules.
Identify adjuncts, when needed.
Ensure that candidates are prepared for the appropriate state certification exams (268, PASL)
Ensure course alignment to TEA Principal as Instructional Leader Pillars for the MED program.
Establish a working relationship with the Graduate School Admissions Office to review accepted applicants. Provide ongoing support to colleagues in the MED and MSED programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Doctorate in Educational Administration or closely related field.
Experience as an administrator/leader at the campus or district level.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of Texas Education Agency policies regarding principal preparation.
Experience in teaching in a principal or superintendent preparation program.
Experience in advising principal or superintendent candidates.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in interfacing directly with the Texas Education Agency.
Experience at multiple levels of campus leadership.
 Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, service, and research
