Description:
The Assessment and Transition Coordinator, College and Career Readiness (CCR)at Davidson-Davie Community College works closely with all CCR students to guide their progress and success from program entry to graduation and transition to a post-secondary program. This position reports directly to the Dean of Academic Support and has the following responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as the point of contact for all interested and incoming CCR students and their families
Schedule potential CCR students for orientation and the next steps in the enrollment process
Meet with all students to map out educational and career goals with target dates for short-term and long-term goal attainment
Meet with all current CCR students to examine progress toward individualized academic and career plans
Evaluate high school transcripts for all Adult High School students
Track CCR student progress and retention
Work closely with the Basic Skills Plus Coordinator, CCR Directors, Transition Center Director and Continuing Education staff to coordinate student entry into academic and/or career pathways while completing a CCR program
Collaborate with school district liaisons and local agencies in the DDCC service area to identify potential students for all CCR programs
Collaborate with DDCC enrollment and admissions to ensure a smooth transition from CCR to curriculum or continuing education
Maintain high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
Assist with recruitment efforts by attending local events
Complete documentation and reporting in accordance with federal and state regulations
Performs other tasks as assigned that support the mission and initiatives of the College

Your attributes:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Institution in education, administration, counseling or a related field
1 year of experience in College and Career Readiness
Experience working with low income, first generation, adult high school/adult equivalency students and/or at risk students
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with WIOA programs
Work experience advising students
Work experience in a community college setting
Experience with Advancys
Strong oral and written communication
Demonstrated ability to plan/conduct workshops, field trips, and educational activities
Knowledge of Community College CCR admission and enrollment procedures
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid procedures
Demonstrated ability to work with students obtaining a post secondary degree/workplace credential
