The Board of Education of the Greene Central School District announces a vacancy in the position of Superintendent of Schools, effective August 1, 2023.
The Board plans to offer an initial three-year contract with a salary range of $140,000-$160,000 depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Residency is not required, but regular attendance at school events is expected.
The Board is seeking an educational leader of the highest professional and personal integrity with the following qualifications and profile: • A child-centered advocate for all learners and their needs; • A leader who is approachable and able to communicate with people from all walks of life with honesty, integrity, and sincerity; • Knowledgeable and able to provide direction in the areas of education finance, including capital construction projects, and education law; • A leader who will be highly visible and deeply involved in school life and community activities; and
• An experienced leader who demonstrates ability in personnel management, and is knowledgeable and progressive in curriculum and technology issues.
The Board of Education is looking for someone who:
• Has a genuine concern for children as demonstrated by listening, being visible and known to them, and having involvement in their education and activities. • Exhibits good judgment, is patient in dealing with others, and has shown evidence of stability and integrity under pressure. • Is a visionary and resourceful leader who can look to the future and help set the right direction for the school system. • Has a leadership style that is built upon trust, integrity, enthusiasm, compassion, courtesy, common sense, attention to detail, and strong moral and ethical values. • Possesses good management and problem solving skills and a participatory leadership style.
The Board has appointed the DCMO BOCES District Superintendent, Michael Rullo, to assist in the search and screening process. The initial search for candidates will be closed; however, finalists will be expected to provide a community presentation.
