Under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, performs professional level duties related to district-wide Equity Programs and Initiatives. Provides leadership, coordination, and support in the ongoing development, implementation, and administration of all phases of the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts of CVUSD.

Serve as a leader, advocate, and resource person in matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Oversight and implementation of CVUSD strategic plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Manage and oversee the development and implementation of anti-racist/ anti-bias training for staff; provide support and coaching; identify leadership components to ensure safe and inclusive environments and provide continuum of professional development across the district.
Assist with the development and implementation of instructional practices and pedagogy related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ensure that the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and other programs/projects incorporate the needs of underrepresented student populations.
Work collaboratively with Human Resources to develop, implement, and assist in the recruitment processes to increase diversity in our employees, teachers, counselors, and administration pipeline in collaboration with local and national colleges/universities.
Assist with procedures for curriculum screening, selection, piloting, and adoption of instructional materials related to cultural relevancy and the Fair Education Act.
Assist with the coordination of guidance and support services to ensure all students have equitable access to guidance and educational services.
Maintain and oversee methods of program evaluation, accountability, tracking/monitoring and reporting of data related to underrepresented student populations to improve student success and to respond to LCAP Objectives and other job description elements.
Provide coaching and modeling to staff in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Work collaboratively with both Instructional Service and Student Service team to support ongoing initiatives and projects related to diversity, cultural relevancy, equity and access, and inclusion.
Collaborate with staff to facilitate trust-building, relationship-building, cultural competency, and organizational awareness as it relates to DEI.
Work externally to establish a network of experts and organizations involved in the national discussion of DEI to consistently advise district leaders on innovative ideas, policy development, and program concepts.
Facilitate and provide comprehensive support to school sites in the integration and execution of Restorative Practices training initiatives.
Provide leadership and support in the development, implementation, and coordination of best practices designed to increase and retain diverse staff within the workforce.
Oversee grant initiatives, manage the department budget, and actively seek grant funding opportunities to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Provide assistance to established student clubs within CVUSD, such as the Black Student Union, Latino Connection Club, GSA while fostering the development of new student organizations across school campuses.
Provide and support various stakeholders and advisory committees including, but not limited to, school sites, students, and community in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Coordinate and support the implementation of the African American District Advisory Council through the collaborative development of agendas and provide ongoing communication with all district advisory councils.
Provide on-going training, support and assistance with school or district investigations into allegations of racism, discrimination, or harassment.
Facilitate the resolution of conflicts between parties, understand what leads to conflict, the nature of conflict, and methods for resolution, and assist with inquiries to resolve conflicts so the inquirer can determine which conflict resolution method would be appropriate for the specific situation.
Select, train, supervise, and evaluate performance of assigned certificated and classified personnel.
Provide timely and effective communications regarding incidents and/or situations which might impact the district, its divisions, or schools.
Collect and analyze project data to measure the impact and evaluate the effectiveness of assigned professional development activities.
Create a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to assigned activities.
Performs other job-related duties and functions as required or assigned.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a master's degree in education, educational leadership or related field, an administrative credential, or four years of progressively responsible management experience, including experience as an administrator and/ or in diversity-related positions with a demonstrated record of progressively responsible leadership in providing strategic direction of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access efforts.
Subject to classroom/office environment and community settings, which may include inside and outside environmental conditions.
