The Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at Texas A&M University-San Antonio's Institute for Autism and Related Disorders in the College of Education & Human Development plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism and related disorders. As a part of the team, the BCBA will provide expert behavior-analytic services, including education, training, consultation, and supervision, to various stakeholders in the community utilizing the Autism Mobile Assessment Bus and support the programmatic developments. This includes school district personnel, clinicians, and caregivers. With a steadfast commitment to research and continuous learning, the BCBA also collaborates on research projects and ensures adherence to the highest ethical standards and abide by the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analyst
Develop and provide ABA education/training for professionals.
Provide ABA services to individuals with disabilities.
Develop and provide ABA training to caregivers of individuals with autism.
Assist in the implementation and development of research projects
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance services.
Mentor behavior analysis paraprofessionals and professionals (RBTs, ABA students, BCBAs)
Collaborate with external partners to advance the mission and vision of the Institute
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Institute for Autism and Related Disorders
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree in applicable field.
No prior experience is required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masterâ™s in ABA or a closely related field
Board certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA/BCBA-D)
License to practice ABA in Texas (Licensed Behavior Analyst).
5+ years of experience as a BCBA
5+ years of experience providing ABA services in schools Â
5+ years of experience providing services to individuals with autism and other disabilities
3+ years of experience in parent/caregiver training
Preference given to data/evaluation-oriented individuals who are fluent Spanish speakers Â
Preference given to candidates who have documented experience with communities of color
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
