The Board of Education of the Walton Central School District announces a vacancy for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will:

November 1, 2024. The Board anticipates completing first round interviews December 2-13, 2024, final interviews January 6-17, 2025, and appointing the successful candidate in February. The new Superintendent is expected to begin employment on July 1, 2025, or a mutually acceptable date.
Walton is situated on the banks of the West Branch of the Delaware River at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, approximately 150 miles from the New York metropolitan area. Binghamton is an easy one-hour drive, with Albany and Syracuse each two hours away. Five colleges are located within an hour’s drive: SUNY Delhi, SUNY Oneonta, Hartwick College, Binghamton University, and SUNY Broome Community College. The Walton Board of Education is composed of seven voluntary members. All members serve three-year terms, meet regularly, and are actively involved on one or more Board Advisory Committees. The Board is united in its top priority, improving academic achievement. Board members will ensure that the new Superintendent is supported in achieving the District’s goals. The Superintendent will be further supported by outstanding instructors, and administrative and support staff.
