This is a term (3 year) position in Portsmouth, Ohio, located in Scioto County.
Ohio State University Extension (OSUE) in Scioto County seeks a Family and Consumer Sciences Educator to work collaboratively with county, area, and state teams of OSUE professionals and with local agency leaders and volunteers. The individual in this position will also work closely with the other two Family and Consumer Sciences Educators in Scioto County. The Educator will be responsible for a broad range of basic to complex duties that include but are not limited to: Teaching and providing guidance and/or leadership for Family and Consumer Sciences programming targeted to local and regional needs including: human and family development and relationships, resiliency and youth mental health education, food and nutrition including food safety and food preservation, and financial literacy education. This position will be partially responsible for implementing a Children, Youth, and Families at Risk grant which has been secured to work with local school districts. Programming will also include working closely with a variety of court systems within Scioto County, providing youth resiliency and parent education programming. Utilize appropriate methods, both formal and informal, for the assessment of local needs and opportunities. Educational programing will be provided based on the identified needs, to groups and individuals comprised of adults and/or youth. May also convene and facilitate community coalitions focused on those needs. The Educator may be required to replicate and adhere to existing programs that meet the needs of the local community. The Educator will develop promotional material, work with and/or lead committees and volunteers, and establish and maintain partnerships within the community that support the achievement of the program goals. The Educator will evaluate educational programs and dissemination methods, as well as utilize existing evaluation instruments for teaching effectiveness, program quality, and the compilation of results of local programs. The Educator will also participate in discussions with county representatives and elected officials regarding program funding. May be responsible for securing external funds to support local programing. Participate as a member of county, multi-county, and/or state Extension teams to further the overall mission, vision, and values of both Ohio State University Extension and Family and Consumer Sciences.

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, units available budget, and the candidates qualifications.
Educator 1 (Requires a Bachelor's degree) $41,650 - $67,900
Educator 2 (Requires a Master's degree) $47,200 - $76,900
Educator 3 (Requires a Master's Degree and 11+ years of direct or related work experience) $55,100 - 89,700
