Goleta Union School District – Assistant Superintendent - Pupil Services GUSD is a P-6, nine school district located in Santa Barbara County. The Assistant Superintendent - Pupil Services provides professional leadership and supervision to all Pupil Services department staff; implements and monitors all special education and ancillary programs as prescribed by the State and Federal Government, and the Board of Trustees. Required Qualifications:
• California Clear Administrative Services Credential;
• Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
• Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience, including site administration and/or district office; • Experience administering special education programs and services;
• Expertise in TK-6 student support services
Desired Qualifications:
• Doctoral Degree
• Five years of teaching experience, preferably in Special Education, grades TK-6
• Five years effective leadership as a school principal
• Experience, training or coursework in special education administration and/or willingness to undertake appropriate professional development activities in conjunction with employment.
GUSD serves approximately 3,517 students in preschool through sixth grade. There are a total of nine elementary schools and six of them receive Title I funding that supports students from low-income households. All nine elementary schools include a transitional kindergarten (TK) program, and three of our nine schools have inclusive preschool programs serving students starting at the age of three.
