Description of Position:  The Assistant Superintendent of Education is responsible for the coordination of curriculum and assessment, curriculum related professional development, coordinating categorical programs, development and implementation of the district Local Education Accountability Plan (LEAP) and the district Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) (or current State requirements), supervision of the Directors of Elementary and Secondary Education, and oversight and management of student discipline.  The Assistant Superintendent of Education is a member of the District administrative team.  1. Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the Directors of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Director of Pupil Services, and other district administrators as assigned.
