Position Summary
Full-time position under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) available on or after July 1, 2023 in the Academic Affairs Division.

The Dean, Stockton Campus reports to the Provost/Vice President, Academic Affairs. The Dean is the chief administrative officer providing operational, fiscal, and strategic oversight for the Stockton Campus. Under the general supervision of the Provost/Vice President, the Dean serves as the primary liaison between the institution and community partners/stakeholders. The Dean is a member of the Provost's Advisory Council, is the primary advocate for the Stockton Campus and participates in the decision-making process for the entire division of Academic Affairs. In addition, the Dean, in collaboration with their administrative team, exercises overall responsibility for the academic and student support administration of the Stockton Campus. This includes academic programs delivered via stateside mechanisms and academic programs delivered through University Extended Education. In addition, the Dean oversees the daily operation of the Stockton Campus and serves as the liaison between the University and the Grupe-Huber Commercial Company in its role in the development of University Park. The Dean will also support the Vice Presidents for Business and Finance, Student Affairs, and University Advancement on a variety of administrative duties, including facilities utilization, student support services, outreach and recruitment, technology development, institutional marketing, and community relations.

The Dean works closely with the College and Library Deans, the Office of Graduate Studies, and University Extended Education on the development and maintenance of academic and certificate programs for the Stockton Campus, including academic planning, enrollment management, curriculum development, program delivery, and assessment. Furthermore, the Dean interacts and collaborates with the Grupe-Huber Commercial Company to serve the city of Stockton and the San Joaquin County region. The Dean is responsible for coordinating the Campus' long-range planning efforts and establishing collaborative and innovative partnerships with public and private educational institutions and with community organizations.

Job Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:

Collaborate with the College Deans and the Dean of Extended Education; engage in planning, development, and implementation or programs (existing and new) and course offerings; and expand the existing academic and certificate programs using distance education technologies.

Assist with the recruitment of students for state-funded and self-support-funded programs and courses and significantly increase the enrollment of the Stockton Center over the medium term.

Build effective working relationships with regional educational organizations (particularly San Joaquin Delta College and Stockton Unified School District), government officer and agencies, and industry and community groups.

Appropriately market the Stockton Campus and its programs in consultation with the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs, College Deans, Department Chairs, and the Vice President for University Advancement.

Work with outside groups to schedule day meetings and conferences at the Stockton Campus, as appropriate.

Serve as the Stockton Campus' chief administrative officer, responsible for the growth and quality of all academic and student support service programs and partnerships in Stockton and the surrounding community, in cooperation with the College and Library Deans and the university Vice Presidents.

Direct the Stockton Campus' daily operations.

Oversee staff recruitments from inception to completion.

Perform substantive evaluations of staff according to university policies.

With appropriate consultation, develop procedures and policies to provide support services for baccalaureate degree, master's degree, and credential programs.

In collaboration, ensure that the technological needs of faculty, staff, and students are met.

Work with the Grupe-Huber Commercial Company in the continued development and growth of the University Park site for CSU Stanislaus students.

Work with University Park on-site management and the AVP of Capital Planning & Facilities Management on facilities and security issues.

Responsible for ensuring that safety concerns are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

Serve on the Provost's Advisory Council.

Develop and present budget recommendation to the Provost/Vice President, Academic Affairs.

Plan and manage Stockton Campus expenditures within established budgetary allocations.

Oversee enrollment management function for the Stockton Campus, including recruitment, enrollment, enrollment targets, and student support services.

Develop effective course scheduling and program design that attracts students and facilitates graduation in a timely fashion.

Ensure course delivery based on enrollment demand, working closely with the College Deans and the Dean of University Extended Education to ensure that appropriate sections are offered to meet student needs.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Terminal degree (JD, PhD, or EdD)
Experience: Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in academic administration.

Salary Range
Anticipated salary will be $168,730 - $185,160 per year, plus excellent paid benefits. Salary will depend on the qualifications of the successful finalist.
