Basic Function:  Serves as educational and community leader and chief administrator of the assigned 9-12 school with coordination of all school objectives, the instructional program, department chair people, teacher and staff assignments and evaluations;  complex student activities; school plant operations and maintenance; school's attendance area.  Distinguishing Characteristics: The Principal 9-12 is expected both to communicate and listen so that the goals of the school reflect the needs and interests of the school's attendance area which it serves.
