The Employment Team Coordinator leads a team of Employment Consultants that provide an array of pre & post-employment services for a wide range of individuals. Highline?s Employment Teams facilitate opportunities for individuals to explore employment interests that utilize their strengths and vocational preferences and support long-term career development.
Employment Consultants assess each student?s skills and talents, develop and implement service plans, develop leads and contacts at community employers, and assist in securing employment opportunities that are a match for both the student and the business. They also work with their students on the job site to help train both the student and the employer on effective communication techniques, accommodations, and developing natural supports in the workplace.
The Employment Team Coordinator helps facilitate productive partnerships with student residential supports, families, and funders (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), King County Developmental Disabilities and Early Childhood Supports Division (KCDDECSD), and local school districts) to ensure employment success.
This is an exempt salaried overtime-eligible, full-time, at-will position.Reporting to the Program Manager of Community and Employment Services this position will: Operations
Supervise and support a team of Employment Consultants;
Work collaboratively with other Employment Team Coordinators and the Leadership Team;
Facilitate employer outreach and marketing to help develop new employment opportunities for students;
Facilitate and maintain communication between all coworkers, team members and managers;
Serve as liaison between staff and external agencies;
Facilitate monthly staff meetings with team members;
Support a caseload of students and fill in for team members as necessary;
Support and encourage input and feedback of all team members;
Foster an environment that promotes personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of work;
Promote and support team, staff and student goals;
Provide staff support as they problem solve and manage their individual caseloads;
Ensure that files are complete and contain necessary paperwork to meet county, state, and CARF guidelines;
Foster and support a team of Employment Consultants which reflects the mission, goals and values of Highline Community and Employment Services;
Work individually with staff to encourage professional development, improve performance and when necessary implement a corrective action plan;
Attend and participate in Leadership Team meetings;
Prepare monthly billing reports for funding entities;
Review and implement accreditation and audit requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience working with a wide range of individuals in developing work skills and/or securing employment;
Knowledge of workplace accommodations;
Demonstrated experience working with other staff in a leadership or supervisory role;
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with a wide range of individuals and stakeholders;
Perform tasks that require physical ability, including pushing, stretching and lifting;
Ability to implement policies and procedures and promote CES and Highline?s mission, vision and values;
Ability to make sound decisions with little need for oversight;
Ability to maintain necessary data and documentation in a variety of areas;
Ability to support and encourage growth of team members through feedback, instruction and guidance;
Foster cooperation and commitment of team members to achieve individual and team goals;
Encourage creativity and innovation in contributing to organizational objectives and goals;

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Leadership experience in the social/human services field; AND
4 years of experience in workforce development, employment support, or related social services;
OR
Associate of Arts Degree; AND
2 years of experience in workforce development, employment support, or related social services.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in behavioral Science;
Experience with employment support for people with disabilities;
Experience working with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).
