Under the general direction of the Superintendent, provides leadership in planning, supervising and directing the business, food services, and transportation departments of the District. Functions in an advisory role to the other support programs of the District. Responsible for supervising the following services: the School District’s fiscal operations, financial and student attendance accounting systems, payroll, position control, accounts payable, risk management, food services, transportation, contract administration and purchasing. Responsible for the day-to-day operating procedures of the District’s business services. Serves as a member of the District’s management team in the collective bargaining process and a member of the District’s Leadership Team. Serves as fiscal advisor to the Superintendent and reports directly to the Superintendent. Performs other related work as required. The Assistant Superintendent of Business Services is a senior management position.
Possesses a four-year degree in business, finance or related field; or, a four-year degree in a non-business related field and possess either a Chief Business Official Certification from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) or California Association of School Business Officers (CASBO) Academy; . At least five years of progressively responsible management experience in business services, including management experience in budgeting and accounting operations preferably in a public school district.
