Under the direction of the Director, Risk Management, manage safety projects and initiatives, safety training and serve as an informational resource to staff and administrators; survey facility safety issues and make recommendations for improvements; serve as a liaison with agencies involved in the protection of human life, including police, fire and other emergency services at the local, state and federal levels; coordinate and direct the District’s safety program and emergency preparedness efforts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws; supervise, train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Any combination equivalent to bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, disaster management, industrial hygiene or a closely related field and five years of recent increasingly responsible experience managing health, safety and loss prevention programs in a public agency, educational environment preferred. Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) highly desirable.
