Duties:
The School of Education at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Studies. It is our goal to hire four positions as part of a group of exceptional scholar-practitioners with a record of commitment to the academic success of historically marginalized groups of students and engagement in scholarly activity and service at the intersection of education, anti-racism, diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. This position would begin in August 2023.
In addition to the Assistant Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Studies, the Department of Teaching and learning will also be seeking applicants for the following tenure track positions. Candidates must apply to each individual position. · Assistant Professor TESOL

The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities :
Teach and advise students in the graduate Applied Behavior Analysis and Interdisciplinary Autism Studies program and Special Education programs.
Contribute to on-going inter-disciplinary program development and community liaison activities.
Supervise and mentor students in field experiences.
Contribute to scholarship in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Studies through research, publications, and presentations at regional, national, and international meetings.
Provide service to the special education unit, department, university, and local community by serving on School of Education and College committees, continuing and establishing partnerships with local school districts/community agencies, and regularly contributing to relevant curriculum and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
An earned doctorate in Behavior Analysis, or a closely related field (e.g., special education, education, speech/language, psychology, school psychology) by August. Exceptional ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered.
A credential as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst by August 2023
A credential as a New York State Licensed Behavior analyst by August 2023
Excellent teaching skills
Ability to coordinate and mentor students in field experiences
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Deep understanding of the science of behavior analysis, with the content knowledge to teach graduate-level courses in the Literacy program. Courses can be viewed at this link:
Ability to teach classes in in-person, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online delivery formats.
Preferred:
At least three years of prior experience teaching students with ASD in public and/or private schools.
At least three years of prior experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with experience supervising aspiring behavior analysts
Experience teaching and supervising candidates in MTSS, special education assessment, behavior management, FBA development, and progress-monitoring data collection.
Experience teaching synchronous and asynchronous online classes.
