Our District is located in an active, supportive community serving approximately 7,000 PK-adult students in six elementary schools, two middle schools, a comprehensive high school, a continuation high school, an independent study school and an Adult school. Ukiah Unified serves students from four communities and is located 110 miles north of San Francisco and 43 miles east of the beautiful Mendocino Coast. The Principal is the instructional leader at the elementary school responsible for leading and developing a dynamic faculty who will lead our students to succeed. The Principal will set a powerful vision for student achievement and will strategically implement the school’s mission through effective leadership and management of all stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community. The principal is responsible for managing and overseeing all functions of the instructional program, school environment, and the operational and fiscal health of the school. The principal establishes and sets priorities so that the staff functions as a highly effective team. The principal is an active member of the UUSD Leadership team.
Essential Duties Include:
Implements a high quality, rigorous academic program that promotes critical thinking, citizenship, leadership and growth and is consistent with the UUSD district and mission.
Ensures that every student is reading at grade level and is exhibiting numeracy skills at grade level.
Hires, leads, and manages a dynamic staff and faculty team to deliver exceptional results for all students, including those who are English Learners or have special needs.
Creates an effective, collaborative team of people jointly responsible for the attainment of school goals and committed to achieving excellence.

Qualifications and Experience:
A valid California Administrative Services and Teaching Credential required;
Master’s Degree desired;
Three (3) years of successful administrative experience required;
Minimum five (5) years classroom experience required;
Knowledge of the laws and rules as they relate to areas of responsibility required;
