Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP).
This position will participate in a multiple state and site School Mental Health MTSS project funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) grant – Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education). The Project aims to build school district capacity for delivering comprehensive student mental health MTSS in collaboration with Rutgers University, school personnel, community-based providers of behavior health care services, community organizations, families, and youth. The project's primary goals are to enhance school personnel MTSS implementation that maximizes the healthy social and emotional development of K-12 grader students and prevents youth violence in school districts. These positions are grant-funded positions that can begin immediately. The position will report to Drs. Emily Graybill and Erum Nadeem. The hire will have opportunities to engage in and contribute to publications, conference presentations, funding proposals, and professional development opportunities related to school and clinical psychology.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Participates on a highly supportive multidisciplinary research team focused on evaluating and studying the implementation and outcomes of MTSS school mental health components (e.g., screening, assessments, interventions and supports).
Assist in monitoring and evaluating district wide MTSS implementation and related school mental health projects.
Assists in the development of data collection measures and materials.
Performs field-based data collection and evaluation support in school settings.
Assists in the development and maintenance of all project databases.
Coordinates and performs data entry, quality control, and analytics.
Conducts literature searches and review empirically supported publications to assist with manuscript, journal article, and conference presentation preparation.
Assists with administrative tasks.
Handles submission of IRB materials .
Minimum Education and Experience:
B.A. or B.S. in psychology, education, or related scientific field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Occasional and periodic travel to school district partners in New Jersey to conduct field-based data collection and project support is required.
Data collection sites are within maximum 1.5 hours drive of Rutgers University.
