The School District of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified and fully certified Deputy, Student Rights and Responsibility. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position on September 30, 2025.

Position Summary: Deputy, Student Rights and Responsibility
We are looking for a strategic and compassionate leader to serve as Deputy, Student Rights and Responsibilities—a vital role that supports the Chief of Student Support Services in fostering equitable student outcomes across the district. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives at the intersection of policy, student advocacy, and community collaboration, and who is committed to protecting the rights of all students.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws relating to:
Student rights and responsibilities
Discipline, suspensions, expulsions, and hearings
Attendance, truancy, and student transitions
Title IX, bullying, and harassment
Supports for students experiencing homelessness or child welfare involvement
Lead district-wide initiatives to reduce disproportionality in discipline and improve school climate.
Design and implement short- and long-term plans that improve student conduct and school safety.
Collaborate with key partners including:
Family Court and DHS
Mayor’s Office of Education and Community Schools
The Office of Children and Families
Champion student voice and leadership through mentoring and engagement opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
Juris Doctordegree from an accredited law school or university.
Ten years preferred (seven years minimum) of full-time, paid, professional experience, five of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
Salary Range: $128,954-168,387 depending on qualifications and experience. Compensation including generous benefits and Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement eligibility.
