EOP Data AnalystAt the Educational Opportunity Project (EOP) at Stanford University, the team is working towards a day where all children have access to equitable educational opportunities. We are measuring educational opportunity in every community in America and have built the first 10-year national database of academic performance based on nearly 450 million test scores. We hope that researchers will use the data to generate evidence about what policies and contexts are most effective at increasing educational opportunity, and that such evidence will inform educational policy and practices.
We seek an equity-minded, quantitative specialist who is dedicated to closing the opportunity gap to join our team as an
Educational Opportunity Project Data Analyst. This person will be a core member of the Educational Opportunity team, leading many of our data initiatives, including: constructing complex, longitudinal datasets for the Stanford Education Data Archive (SEDA) and EOP website, working with partners in the field (i.e., school districts and state departments of education), producing analyses and visualizations for reports and papers for publication, managing graduate and undergraduate student research assistants, and supporting external data requests. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, self-motivated, innovative, and a skilled communicator with a passion for using data to inform policies and practices that increase educational opportunity.
This is a very exciting and dynamic time for the Educational Opportunity Project as we create an innovative path to impacting the educational opportunity gap. It is also an exciting time for the Stanford Graduate School of Education where many new research programs are taking flight, and faculty searches are underway for the very best in their fields. The Data Analyst will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission. This position will be supervised by Sean Reardon, Professor of Poverty and Inequality in Education and Professor (by courtesy) of Sociology at Stanford University and Dr. Erin Fahle, Co-Director of the Educational Opportunity Project, and will collaborate closely with other faculty, students and research staff.
